Project update: Great Yarmouth Marina Centre, June 2021
The Morgan Sindall Construction team and our supply chain have been working hard over the last couple of months on the Great Yarmouth Marina Centre project.
The steel frame has continued, releasing the façade works. Metal decking installation has commenced to the first floor and roofing has started providing some level of weather protection to commence internal works.
Over the coming months we will see a start in the external cladding, brickwork & M&E first fix, and that’s when you’ll really start to get a feel for external visuals and what the building will actually look like!
Progress of some of the areas of the building in more detail
Sports hall boarding
As the frame progresses this is enabling the façade work to commence. We have started installing the structural layer within the façade (SFS) and started to clad this with the weather defence board. Don’t worry the building isn’t going to remain purple! This will be covered in the future with both brickwork and cladding.
Ground floor slab construction
The ground floor construction has commenced with preparation in readiness for the concrete slabs. We have had our first pour which will now enable the internal partitions to commence with blockwork wall construction
Metal decking to the first floor and roofs has recommenced enabling follow on trades to start
