About the project

Construction of a new three-storey school building following partial demolition of the existing craft block. Refurbishment and re-organisation of existing buildings to bring them in line with the new building. An additional car park for 46 vehicles including cycle racks and alterations to the school access to create a new main entrance. A new all-weather pitch which will be available for community use as well as use for the school. A ‘daily mile’ exercise route to the perimeter of the school field.

The additional facilities are for both 11-16 pupils and post-16 pupils, to increase capacity of 11-16 places from 1,200 to 1,500, and increase post-16 places from 230 to 300 places, with effect from the 2022/23 academic year.

Working in the Hailsham community

Making a positive difference in the communities we work is a vital part of our responsible business plan. Our Community Investment Group supports our project teams in the delivery of local community engagement projects. The team in Hailsham is part of the wider London & Home Counties business unit, which operates out of four regional offices, the Brighton Office being associated with this project.

Rob Hendley, project manager, is the dedicated community contact for the HCCAT project and will maintain communications with neighbours and the surrounding community. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with Rob via the contact form at the bottom of the page with any queries regarding the project.

As a business we are proud members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has a Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

This page will provide a snapshot of activities we have been undertaking in the local community.
