Key facts

  • Low carbon, energy efficient building using Modern Methods of Construction such as SIPS and offsite manufacture of MEP service modules
  • Fast paced project due for completion July 2022
  • The main hall, sports centre and external sports areas will be available for hire outside of school hours for the benefit of the local community
  • A dedicated ‘Knowledge Quad’ training centre has been established on site by Morgan Sindall Construction and will provide training for local people looking to reskill or explore new career options

About the project

Located within the new flagship nature-friendly Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, the 1,080-place Kingsbrook Secondary School will include a sixth form and a 32-place Special Educational Needs Unit.

It will also feature a sports hall, pavilion, grass sports pitches, an all-weather pitch, and a multi-use-games-area.

The 10,000m2 school will be heated by air source heat pumps and the use of structural insulated panels (SIPs) is also expected to make the building cheaper to keep warm.

Working in Kingsbrook, Aylesbury and the wider Buckinghamshire community

Making a positive difference in the communities we work is a vital part of our responsible business plan. Our Community Investment Group supports our project teams in the delivery of local community engagement projects. The Northern Home Counties team is part of the wider London & Home Counties business unit, which operates out of four regional offices, the Welwyn Garden City Office being associated with this project.

Conor Crossan, Quantity Surveyor, is the dedicated community contact for the Kingsbrook Secondary School project and will maintain communications with neighbours and the surrounding community. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with Conor via the contact form at the bottom of the page with any queries regarding the project.

As a business we are proud members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has a Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
