Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Pre-Construction Quantity Surveyor.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals.

They will manage their own tasks within the context of a project or company objective. Whilst they will take day to day decisions on their own, they will refer significant decisions. They are accountable for the performance of a small team.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be commercially responsible for the stage 1 and stage 2 of 2-stage bids
  • Lead a team to effectively convert the project to contract
  • Identify the commercial strategy to win a bid
  • Understand the commercial bid requirements
  • Produce a risk & opportunities plan
  • Work with the team to agree a suitable supply chain 
  • Produce suitable supply chain enquiries in conjunction with the wider team
  • Collate, compare and submit supply chain enquiries
  • Work with the production team to agree an optimised logistics plan and price this
  • Conduct preliminary high-level comparisons on our bid to show cost effectiveness
  • Conduct soft market testing to aid with cost planning
  • Work with our cost planner to agree the cost plan with the client team
  • Attend and positively contribute to client interviews and or client team engagements
  • Place sub-contract and consultant orders

 

Requirements:

  • HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or other commercially related discipline) RICS accredited
  • Knowledge and experience of the procurement of sub-contractors in sub-contract procurement
  • Understanding of period cost reporting and comparison with budget/forecast Previous experience with COINS
  • Experience in commercial management of sub-contractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, accrual calculations and value allocation
  • Knowledge of the procurement of sub-contractors
  • Able to manage and effectively monitor sub-contractors with little supervision Knowledge of effective cost allocation management
  • NEC and residential experience advantageous.
