Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Assistant Planner

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated Planners.

As an Assistant Planner you will provide planning support to both the pre-contract and delivery teams in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and quality standards, under the guidance of the planner / senior planner.

Work across multiple projects assessing progress; producing trend analysis data and doing some of the detailed work to support our projects under the guidance of a planner / senior planner.

Responsibilities:

Tender Stage:

• Assist the planner / senior planner with production of the tender programme and programme narrative.
• Assist the planner / senior planner with the production of site logistics plans, phasing plans, methodology, temporary works and other tender deliverables as required.

Construction / Delivery Stage (As directed by the planner / senior planner):

• Capture and input ‘actual data’ to the current programme of site works.
• Assist with production of the monthly and period updated programme, progress reports and revised forecasts and its communication to the site team, client and all major stakeholders
• Provide planning support to assist the project to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on the critical path and test logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the baseline programme or to mitigate potential delays
• Assist in the production of reports and programme commentary
• Produce reports and / or extract filters as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme
• Attend progress meetings with internal customers
• Ensure planning processes are followed on all projects

Requirements:

• HNC (or equivalent) in Building Studies.
• CSCS Construction Planner
• Competent in project management software; must be competent with Asta PowerProject
• Good level of construction knowledge and experience in programme and project management, with 2 to 3 years experience in a construction role, with a main contractor.

Recently completed schemes include the Arts and Humanities Building for MMU. Live schemes include a new Engineering Building for Salford University, New Bailey and Islington Wharf Residential Developments, The Spine for Liverpool City Council and the Birkenhead Redevelopment for Wirral Growth Co.

We work primarily in the Education, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Health sectors. Our key clients include MUSE, Liverpool City Council, Manchester Council and Merseyside Police.
