Carbon Literacy Manager

Location: National
Office Based, with flexibility for remote working

We are looking for an experienced and talented Carbon Literacy Manager responsible for the development and deployment of the Carbon Literacy Project into stakeholder groups to improve our carbon performance and the delivery of social value in the communities where we work nationally across the business. This position is office based, with flexibility for remote working.

About the role:

Carbon Literacy Project coordination will result in the creation of carbon literate change agents across our business that can engage knowledgably with our external stakeholders on decarbonisation. Duties will include:

  • Shape the training content for stakeholders, specifically supply chain, customers, framework managers, colleagues and working with the Social Value and Sustainability Team
  • Coordinate the accreditation process for candidates
  • Book training for candidates
  • Push successes to PR and Comms for use in marketing
  • Monitor progress towards Carbon Literacy targets
  • Lead, coordinate and drive the evolution of the Carbon Literacy Project within our stakeholder groups
  • To lead, contribute to and support other Scape and framework-led programmes of work

Work with heads of function and the Director of Sustainability & Social Value to:

  • Identify common themes to create resource efficiencies and business improvements
  • Work with Climate Fund stakeholders to create business improvements
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, promoting new ways of working to deliver improved business value and deliver higher sustainability impacts.
  • Lead training sessions for our internal and external customers
  • Conduct feedback surveys from businesses and collate results to measure impact of behavioural initiatives
  • Contribute to the team’s Reference library of digital resources, guidance and publications
  • Support the maintenance of the team intranet page, e.g. uploading document revisions, flagging out of date documents
  • Carbon Literacy Project performance reporting across stakeholder groups
  • Populate case study templates as required
  • Ensure that internal company relationships with other departments, offices and business units/regions are positive and supportive
  • Be prepared to take additional responsibility, where necessary, to support the department/function
  • Offer ideas for improving the service you offer or the processes for which you are responsible for

What are we looking for?

  • As an experienced Carbon Literacy Manager, you will have demonstrable experience of managing and influencing team behaviours
  • Have previous experience of managing decentralised national teams Possess previous experience of driving a function within a national framework
  • Possess a working understanding of supply chain arrangements and be able to demonstrate supply chain experience
  • Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and knowledge regarding forms of contract and their impact on social value outcomes
  • Possess a working understanding how to be a responsible business and behave ethically
  • Demonstrate experience of working within a work winning/bid room environment
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of diversity and inclusion
