Key facts
- The proposed works retain and celebrate Kings Hall's Victorian history and Grade II Listing, preserving and restoring its unique features such as ornate façades, roof lanterns, and detailed tile work.
- Reinstate one of the two lost pools to provide three pools for building users: mixed pool, learner pool and teaching pool.
- Provide inclusive access throughout the facility.
- Extend and improve the existing fitness provision, including new Sports Hall.
- New and improved changing facilities.
- Provide new MEP services throughout, ensuring safe and compliant services provision for the building.
- Thermal upgrades throughout including wall, floor and roof insulation and new glazing, enhancing Kings Hall's energy efficiency.
About the project
The Kings Hall Leisure Centre project is an existing Grade 2 Listed Leisure Centre located in Hackney. The development consists of refurbishment and part new build creating new pool spaces, state of the art gym space and new sports hall while retaining a lot of its current Historical features.
