Newsletter- February 2025

Welcome to the 2nd Edition of our newsletter for the Mill Yard project.​

Since our last update we have now completed the large attenuation tanks situated in the ground which will deal and control the flow of the rainwater from the new buildings into the main infrastructure in Devonshire Road. Now this is complete we have started the deepest of the services on site, which is the Foul Water drainage and following that the water main installation. ​

The piling has now finished, so the two large machines are now leaving site. The cylindrical columns of concrete, that go 15-20m into the ground acting like stilts, will now support a concrete foundation that will provide us with the level and solid base to we need to start building on in the months to come.​

In the next month, we will be starting the basement excavation, this is the only block with a basement and will house various pieces of plant that will serve the new building.

Future Progress

The final thing to mention is that you may well have seen that we have started to construct our temporary office block down the side of site meaning our current cabins will be removed.​

This new set up will place us a bit further out of the way and also allow us to begin work on the residential block which sits directly under the cabins we currently use as our office and welfare facility.​
