Site Activities
Over the past month, we’ve continued to make strong progress as the project edges closer to completion. Internal works have moved forward with painting now underway on the first floor, where door frames and architraves are receiving their first coat. The windcatcher opening has been cut into the roof structure, preparing for the installation of natural ventilation systems. Mechanical and electrical progress includes the installation of IPS panels and ceiling grid works in the sample room. Kitchen units have been fitted on the first floor, and vinyl flooring has been laid in wet areas, helping to shape the final look and functionality of the school’s interior spaces.
Externally, the attenuation tank has been installed and backfilled, forming a key part of the site’s drainage infrastructure. Solar panels have been fitted on the roof, supporting the school’s sustainability goals. The pathway base layer has been laid, and render works have progressed with both base and middle coats applied to the building façade. Backfilling in front of the mains power boxes has also been completed, supporting final electrical connections. These works mark another important step in preparing the building for final finishes, commissioning, and eventual handover.
Upcoming work
With all works within the existing school now complete, the focus for the coming month will be on progressing key activities across the construction site. A mobile crane will be on site for two days to lift and position the remaining rooftop M&E equipment, with full safety measures and traffic controls in place to ensure smooth and secure operations. Internally, the sample/benchmark room is scheduled for completion, alongside continued M&E installations and the start of flooring works throughout the building.
Externally, groundworks will begin to the west and south of the new school, forming part of the final landscaping and access preparations. These works will help shape the surrounding environment and support the overall functionality of the site. Together, these tasks mark another important phase in the project as we move closer to final finishes, commissioning, and handover.
