Landmark - First Pile goes in!

Last week marked the first phase of works on the new Community Hub building as piling started in the ground which will be used as structural supports for the new building.

We are currently testing to see how many of the 8 metre piles we will need in the ground from those initial 8 test piles. If the test pile goes in below ground level, another pile will be added on top until they stop going into the ground. The pile rig weighs an incredible 82 tonnes!

This piling phase will be completed in the next few weeks and is the only piling activity to take place across the overall programme.
