Roofline Classroom Session at Redbridge Community School
As part of our ongoing partnership with Redbridge Community School, we invite our supply chain to participate in classroom sessions. This not only give the students first-hand practical experience but also provides an informal environment for them ask questions about what it is really like to work in their trade and career routes.
Recently, Roofline visited and gave a short presentation followed by a practical session where they built a roof covering for their very own sand store which now has pride of place outside the Construction Academy classroom!
Steve Marsh, Commercial Director, Roofline sums it up perfectly:
"We were grateful for the opportunity of meeting the pupils at the Construction Academy at Redbridge School yesterday to highlight the many exciting opportunities the Construction industry can offer. We are all aware of the current skills shortage we are facing so to have the chance to support such a fantastic initiative was something we were keen to do. The enthusiasm Chris has for the initiative is infectious and the engagement we received from the pupils was amazing both during our presentation and the practical session afterwards. If this group of young people are the future generation of Construction I believe we are in safe hands. It was a very rewarding day."
Chris Green, Construction Lead, Redbridge Community School added:
"Many thanks for two fantastic sessions with our year 11 Construction students yesterday. I think almost running out of time for the practical activity due to the number of questions was a perfect demonstration of the impact you had. The impromptu ‘weld off’ that started up was superb and was still going on at the end of the day - even though one student had clearly won hands down! We must now have the poshest sand store in the UK!
Thank you also for the student feedback you gave. Identifying and supporting talent is a big part of our partnership with Morgan Sindall and it was clear from all of you that this is your genuine goal too."
