i-Construct 2025

On 20 January 2026, the i-Construct stakeholders gathered all the winning students, from schools across Hampshire, to celebrate their success in winning an award at the i-Construct 2025 event held at the CETC/CEMAST Campus in Fareham, which has now become an annual event in the schools' curriculum.

It felt fitting to have them celebrate together alongside their parents and teachers and Careers Leads. And what an honour to be able to award to students from all ages in Y7-11 and recognise the diversity of their participation and achievements. With over 550 students attending this year's event across the 2 days from 40 schools split into 122 teams, to win one of the 27 awards on the night is something to be very proud of indeed.

Morgan Sindall Construction sponsored the Best Research Award, presented by Cliff Kinch, Area Director for our South Office to a team from St Mark's School which seemed fitting as we built their school only a few years ago for Southampton City Council and continues our social value involvement locally.

And what a venue, thanks to the support of Cat Brook and Andy Dodson at Southampton Solent University, for the winners to see the Spark Building which they could one day attend if they follow a career path into Construction. Matt Johnson, Director of South Coast Institute of Technology gave a welcome speech, followed by Anoushka Ottley, Exec Director of Business and Apprenticeships, South Hampshire College Group to inspire them to find out more about their courses and apprenticeships.

It was pleasing to see a good number of local schools also picking up awards on the night including Cantell School, Noadswood School, Oasis Academy Sholing, Saint George Catholic College, St Mark's School, Thornden School, Toynbee School, Wildern School and Upper Shirley High. Maybe they too could be our future talent building other landmark buildings within the City.

Planning and organising this year's event is already under way taking place on 15/16 October 2026 to encourage more young people to explore our exciting industry and potentially become our future talent for building other landmark buildings within the City.
