Building Careers, Not Just Projects: Investing in Our Future Leaders

There is nothing more rewarding than providing opportunities for young people and watching them evolve into the managers of the future. At Morgan Sindall Construction, we don't just build infrastructure; we build careers.

From Classroom to Construction Site
Through our five-year partnership with Redbridge Community School, we’ve had the privilege of watching students grow from pupils into professionals. We are proud to welcome two of those students to the Outdoor Sports Centre project:

  • Harry (Degree Apprentice – Site Manager): Joined last summer and is now undertaking his first block release at Nottingham Trent University.
  • Vanessa (Degree Apprentice – Design Manager): Also joined last summer and is balancing site experience with her studies at Nottingham Trent.

In Harry's words: "This residential week at Nottingham Trent University has really opened my eyes to the opportunity that Morgan Sindall have granted me. I’ve enjoyed meeting new people and the commencement of my Level 4 Site Supervision course. Each day has been different and, at first, was a lot to get my head around. However, that will come with time. So far, the AutoCAD seminars have been my favourite lesson as it has helped me develop a new skill which will help me in my future. It has been great Sue, thank you."

Developing a Talented Pipeline
The growth doesn't stop there. Our team is bolstered by 2 further apprentices:

  • Nikita (Quantity Surveyor): Now in his final year at Portsmouth University.
  • Mati (Graduate Quantity Surveyor): Also studying block release at Nottingham Trent. This week Mati joined Southampton City Council’s roadshow visiting local schools to inspire the next generation of apprentices.

Supporting the Wider Supply Chain
We believe in lifting the entire industry. So far, we have hosted 5 trades apprentices through our supply chain partners—a number that will continue to grow as the project progresses.
