πŸ‘©β€πŸ« Using the Knowledge Quad we have delivered two rounds of CSCS card training, ten Greenwich residents have gained a CSCS card

🏒 The Knowledge Quad is used by LSEC to hold Quantity Surveying lessons until Friday 15th March

🏒 On Monday 18th March, a 14-week accredited construction programme started for Greenwich NEETs from the Knowledge Quad.

SNAPSHOT OF WIDER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

  • Team supported the March into Work jobs fair hosted by DWP in the Woolwich Job Centre. We engaged with over 300 people in the all-day event and 30 people registered with our Labour Desk.
  • Partnered up with Faulkner Brown, the architects working on the Woolwich Leisure Centre development to deliver a talk about the role of an architect. We visited Heronsgate Primary School and on a separate day went to Foxfield Primary School.
  • Engaged with 30 students at Heronsgate Primary and 90 students at Foxfield Primary.
  • Met with GLLaB to discuss the upcoming 14-week accredited construction programme being delivered from the Knowledge Quad and GLLaB’s upcoming Boot Camp programme which we will support.
  • Supported Greenwich’s International Women’s Day event. We held a stall in Woolwich giving out information to women about joining the construction industry.
  • Hosted a site visit to thirteen students at the University of Greenwich studying BSc construction management. Students received a presentation followed by a guided tour of the live construction site.
  • Attended the Greener Greenwich Summit held at Charlton Athletic Football Club. Over 150 people were in attendance, and we received several presentations from various businesses about what they are doing to reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Our Quantity Surveying and Site Management team interviewed LSEC T-Level students for a 45-day industrial placement. Two students will commence their 45-day industrial placement with us after Easter.
