Operations Manager (London Home Counties Business)

Location: London
Project Based, with flexibility for occasional remote working

We are looking for an experienced and talented Operations Manager to manage 3 to 5 multidisciplinary projects and their associated activities from conception through to completion, delivering work that meets project requirements, customer satisfaction and in accordance with Morgan Sindall standardswithin the London Business. This position is project based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.

About the role:

You will be working within our Construction London & Home Counties business, where you will:

  • Nurture and develop relationships with customers, both existing and new.
  • Support the business development and bid teams to convert leads to contract.
  • Lead, with full accountability and responsibility for PCSA, delivery and aftercare phases. Ensure that frameworks/projects/contracts are delivered in full compliance, from Pre construction through to completion, with health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as compliant with Morgan Sindall and customer procedures.
  • Forecast and acquire resources. Ensure their effective and efficient deployment and subsequent recovery to satisfactory completion
  • Achieve profitable business results through adding value within the integrated team
  • Undertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to customers, public and official bodies,
  • Ensure the award of additional work based on excellent performance
  • Produce customer and internal monthly progress reports
  • Develop systems and procedures to embed, capture and cascade best practice
  • Implement business improvement processes that encourage challenge and promote innovation
  • Drive and motivate the whole team to achieve the efficiency challenge required by the customer
  • Delivery of Morgan Sindall 100% Safe targets
  • Challenge design and construction methods to ensure the safest most cost effective methods are used
  • Produce and present monthly Business Review Meeting report
  • Attend monthly Morgan Sindall business reviews
  • Work with Morgan Sindall procurement team to ensure the most cost-effective materials and methods are being utilised
  • Undertake customer feedback surveys with client

Ideally you will have:

Experience working on Pre-Construction, Bids and a good understanding of SHEQ requirements

Experience of working on multiple projects with projects managers as direct reports

Significant experience in the main contracting market with experience of working on multidisciplinary projects between £10 and £40 million.

What are we looking for?

As an experienced Operations Manager, you will have a good understanding of construction frameworks and a BSc Degree educated (or equivalent) preferably in a Construction/ engineering subject. Ideally Chartered status, CIOB. Significant framework management experience. Knowledge of all aspects of legislative compliance, including employment law, health and safety, and environment. Awareness of future workload and commercial drivers
