We are proud to have been selected to be part of the UK Government’s £37bn New Hospital Programme (NHP) a landmark initiative delivering40 new hospitals across England by 2040.

The London & Home Counties region are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Manager to lead planning strategy, programme development, and performance oversight to support the successful delivery for our allocated £250m project withMilton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust within the Government’sNew Hospital Programme (NHP).

The Role

As Senior Planning Manager, you will lead the development, coordination, and management of project programmes across both pre-construction and construction phases, supporting delivery within the New Hospital Programme.

Working closely with our project teams, supply chains, the trust and stakeholders, you will provide planning leadership and strategic direction, ensuring programmes are robust, achievable, and aligned to project and programme objectives.

You will play a key role in identifying risks, driving mitigation strategies, and ensuring accurate reporting and performance monitoring from PCSA to Patient Day One.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and managing coordinated planning strategies for our project
  • Producing and managing NEC compliant programmes for both tender and live project environments
  • Leading the development of tender programmes aligned to ITT requirements, methodologies, and supply chain inputs
  • Presenting programme strategies to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring and assessing project progress independently of the delivery teams
  • Identifying risks and critical path pinch points, and advising on mitigation strategies
  • Supporting the project team in analysing programme performance and improving outcomes
  • Producing reports, programme updates, and commentary for the Trust, NHP and stakeholders
  • Attending and contributing to progress meetings and stakeholder reviews
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement in planning processes and tools
  • Supporting and mentoring the project team on planning best practice and tools

About You

You are an experienced planning professional with a strong track record of delivering programme management across complex construction projects, ideally within healthcare or large infrastructure environments under an NEC form of contract.

You’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in planning and programme management within construction
  • Strong understanding of planning software and tools e.g. Asta
  • Experience producing and managing PCSA and construction programmes
  • A deep understanding of how commercial events impact programme delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach
