Cambridge property community takes to the field to raise funds for construction youth trust

News |

The annual Cambridge Construction Industry’s Contractors vs Consultants charity rugby match will see representatives from the region’s property sector go head to head to raise money for charity.

Morgan Sindall Construction and multi-disciplinary property consultancy Stace will be sponsoring the annual event in aid of the Construction Youth Trust. The charity works with young people to promote social mobility, diversity and encourages them to pursue a career in the construction industry.

The match, which is in its fifth year, will take place at 4pm on Thursday 2 May at Cambridge Rugby Club on Grantchester Road. The event will feature a bar and a BBQ and will provide great networking opportunities for local construction businesses.

Bob Ensch, area director at Morgan Sindall Construction, said: “We’re really pleased to be sponsoring the annual Contractors vs Consultants match. It’s brilliant to be able to support this fantastic charity that plays such an important role in inspiring and encouraging the next generation to pursue a career in construction. The match is a key date in the Morgan Sindall Construction calendar and our team is already in training and looking forward to some healthy competition on the day.”
James Darbyshire, Partner at construction and property consultancy Stace, said: “As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, Stace is delighted to be sponsoring the Contractors vs Consultants match and continuing our support of the Construction Youth Trust. “With the heavily publicised skills shortage, it is fantastic to be raising the profile of the Construction Youth Trust in Cambridge and their mission to inspire and support young people entering the construction sector. This fixture is growing in popularity each year throughout Cambridge, and I look forward to cheering the consultants to a further win!”

Morgan Sindall Construction is currently on site at major schemes across the region. In Cambridge, work is underway on a new £10 million student accommodation development for Trinity College. The new 45-bedroom graduate student accommodation scheme will be located on a part of the site of the world-renowned Cambridge Union Society – the oldest debating society in the world.
