Construction appointed to £13.5 million University of Exeter development

Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed to deliver a programme of essential maintenance work within the Harrison Building for the University of Exeter.

The £13.5 million project will rejuvenate the Harrison Building on the University’s Streatham Campus and works will include the re-roofing of the building, removal and replacement of a suspended ceiling, and a full strip out and upgrade of the internal building services.

The works will support the delivery of engineering education and ensure that students and university staff have access to outstanding facilities.

Morgan Sindall Construction has recently completed a £3.5 million refurbishment programme to improve teaching and study provisions for the university. The company delivered a £1.8 million transformation of Cross Keys, part of the North Cloisters building on the St Luke’s campus, and a £1.7 million refurbishment of the Physics Tower.

Nigel Whelan, area director at Morgan Sindall Construction, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing to support the University of Exeter’s ambition to future-proof and upgrade their campus estate and provide an outstanding student experience.
“This project will modernise and revitalise the Harrison Building - creating a comfortable, contemporary building where students and university staff will be able to access to the best possible facilities.
“Morgan Sindall Construction is well versed in working on live sites at the University of Exeter and delivering best in class student developments and we look forward to bringing this experience to bear on this development.”
