Midlands Construction Community unites to celebrate life of colleague

This summer, Morgan Sindall Construction colleagues and the wider Midlands construction community will be taking part in charity events to celebrate the life of much-loved colleague Ben Burton who sadly passed away in October 2022.
Hundreds of Ben's industry friends and colleagues are coming together as team #BeMoreBen to take on the Tough Mudder 2023 on the 25th June - to raise money for the causes close to Ben’s heart.
By tackling the 10k tough mudder run along with 20 fitness challenges, the team will support The Brain Tumour Charity and Myton Hospice in Warwick where Ben was incredibly well looked after in his final weeks before he passed.
Ben’s friends and family were overwhelmed with the kindness and care towards Ben received from the hospice and are honoured to be able to give something back, while coming together to celebrate Ben’s life.
So far, the participants have raised over £4k in the past few weeks. The #BeMoreBen team are also calling for further donations from the wider industry, colleagues and friends to reach their £10k target by making contributions via Just Giving: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/karina-connolly-1
Karina Connolly, senior business development manager at Morgan Sindall Construction and close friend of Ben, said:
The #BeMoreBen team is made up of 100 people from across our industry with different levels of fitness and for some of us it will be a real challenge, but we are calling for everyone to get involved for this amazing cause.
Ben was an inspiration to so many people in all walks of life and people were always drawn to him as his energy was infectious. He would be the first to sign up for something like a Tough Mudder challenge and would encourage everyone to do the same. Ben once said the cure cannot wait. And it really can’t! Ben was a truly special person, and I am sure he will be proud of us when we take on the Tough Mudder on 25th June 2023.”
