Morgan Sindall Construction’s Midlands business has been appointed to the Major Works lot on a new £3 billion framework serving the region.
A publicly owned and managed framework, Constructing West Midlands 3 (CWM3) is intended to deliver general construction and building services across a wide range of projects.
A total of 20 partners have been appointed across three lots for Minor, Medium and Major Works. Morgan Sindall has been appointed to the Major Works Lot for projects costing in excess of £10 million.
Partners on the framework have signed the CWM3 Framework Charter and committed to creating lasting public value through integrity, collaboration and the responsible stewardship of public funds. By signing the charter, partners agreed to eight commitments of: Integrity; Collaboration; Transparency; Excellence; Public Value; Social Impact; Sustainability; and Innovation.
Morgan Sindall has been working with Constructing West Midlands for more than 15 years, generating approximately £151m in additional social value over that time.
The tier-one contractor runs a regional operation with a local staff and workforce and has delivered a number of projects under previous frameworks, including Atlas Works as part of Constructing West Midlands and Selly Oak Trust School as part of Constructing West Midlands 2.
The commissioning authority for CWM3 is Acivico, a multidisciplinary consultancy wholly owned by Birmingham City Council.
Richard Fielding, Area Director of Morgan Sindall Construction’s Midlands business, said:
We are delighted to have been appointed to CWM3 and to continue our long-standing relationship with Acivico and the Constructing West Midlands team. It is fantastic to have strengthened our position on the framework and put Morgan Sindall in the frame for some of the most transformative projects in the region.
Working within the Midlands is very important to Morgan Sindall, but also, our work is contributing in a very positive way to the region’s businesses and the broader community through our commitment to creating social value and positive outcomes.”
Damian Donnelly, Associate Director of Constructing West Midlands, said:
CWM3 represents a £3 billion investment in the West Midlands and it is brilliant to have been able to appoint contractors to the latest framework. We want to encourage greater collaboration and cooperation and having people come together will make this the starting point on that journey.
Morgan Sindall has been a long term partner for Constructing West Midlands and having them as part of CWM3 is fantastic. I am looking forward to working closely with them for many years to come.”
