We’re continuing our journey with Investors in People

Morgan Sindall Construction is proud to have been awarded the 'We Invest in Wellbeing Gold’ accreditation by Investors in People (IIP).

IIP believe that around 40 days a year are lost due to moderate to severe depression, financial worry or illness due to the impact of a poor diet, and through their work encourage businesses to focus on the wellbeing of their employees to increase the number of positive and productive days in the workplace.

A gold accreditation confirms that an organisation has a good wellbeing strategy is in place that's clearly supported by everyone. There are opportunities and dedicated spaces for people to work as well as socialise. People understand and support each other’s mental health.

The news of our accreditation comes following the business achieving Investors in People Platinum back in November 2022.

What’s more, the team were thrilled to learn earlier this week that they’d been shortlisted as part of the 2023 Investors in People Awards in the UK Platinum Employer of the Year category. The results of which will be shared as part of the award ceremony on 14th November.

As part of the accreditation, the business conducted a survey of the team to find out more about Morgan Sindall Construction’s support and approach to wellbeing. 71% of the business responded and it’s this information, combined with 38 one-to-one employee interviews that determined the outstanding result.

Pat Boyle, managing director, for Morgan Sindall Construction said: “We were thrilled to be shortlisted for the national Investors in People awards in the Platinum Employer of the Year category, but to also achieve our first We Invest in Wellbeing accreditation and to achieve Gold has been brilliant.

We want to ensure that we’re creating a positive and supportive experience for our own team, but also that this attracts others to our business too. Our Investors in People accreditations allows us to have our work externally verified as well as identify new areas of support we could consider.”

We could not have achieved this without the support of those who offered their feedback as part of the survey or who took part in one of the interviews – so I’d like to say a big thank you!”

As the next steps in our wellbeing journey, the business will be looking at the results of the survey to identify and areas of their wellbeing offer that could be further developed in the future.
