Morgan Sindall Construction joins partners to celebrate progress at Islington Wharf
Morgan Sindall Construction has joined its partners at an event to celebrate the progress on a landmark regeneration project in central Manchester.
Urban waterfront development partnership, Waterside Places – a joint venture between nationwide master developer, Muse and the Canal & River Trust – welcomed Morgan Sindall Construction along with partners Latimer, Manchester City Council and Homes England on site at the Islington Wharf regeneration project in the heart of Ancoats, to celebrate progress on the fourth and final phase of homes.
The visually-striking 11 and 16-storey buildings – designed by Ryder Architecture - on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Old Mill Street, will deliver 106 one and two-bedroom apartments, with 54 homes available through shared ownership and the remaining 52 homes for private sale. This final phase will also feature 3,035 sq ft of ground-floor retail space for Sainsbury’s alongside beautifully curated public space, limited car parking and high-quality secure cycle storage facilities to encourage active travel.
The project’s delivery has been supported by apprentices from Manchester City Council.

We also welcome the shared ownership properties at Islington Wharf, increasing opportunities for Manchester people to get a foot on the property ladder in an affordable way.”
The wider Islington Wharf regeneration has brought forward 348 much-needed city centre, waterside homes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments, to four-bedroom family townhouses that have been specifically designed to blend both the heritage of the area and its future, with high-quality features throughout.
