Community Health Screening

We’re delighted to share the success of our recent health screening event, supported by the Ardrossan Community Campus project and delivered in partnership with The Healthy Employee. Over 36 health checks were carried out, including tests for prostate cancer, thyroid function and blood pressure.

Local club, The Winton Rovers FC, hosted the screening at their club and helped promote the event across their website, Facebook page and with posters at the local gym—bringing in a mix of participants, including younger men who saw the posters. We welcomed drop-ins and made sure everyone who attended was seen.

As a result, 15 individuals were referred to their GPs for follow-up care. Many attendees commented on how the football club setting felt more approachable and ‘safer’ than a traditional clinical environment. One participant even shared that her husband, who wouldn’t visit his GP, was comfortable coming to the club for the screening.

It was an incredibly worthwhile event, and well received by all who attended. Thank you to everyone involved for making a real difference to our community’s health and wellbeing!
