Circular Economy in Action
Old lighting columns and rolls of used sports pitch surfacing have been reused rather than thrown away, helping local projects and saving an estimated £240,000.
The materials were recycled and brought back into the community, giving them a second life and avoiding waste. It’s a great example of how simple reuse can make a big difference both for the environment and local budgets.
Local clubs including Dbt Golf Club, Crichton Golf Club, Sanquhar Golf Club, Heston Rovers, Thornhill Golf Club, Dumfries County, Dumfries Saints and some local people were among those to benefit, using the repurposed materials.
ALSO A BIG THANK YOU to our local hauliers who helped out - T.P. Niven, Walter Marchbank, MKM Building Supplies and the local community.
