Welcome to the project page for the Dumfries High School project, which is being built by Morgan Sindall Construction for hub South West Scotland, Development Partner of Dumfries & Galloway Council.
Here you can read about the project and its positive effect on the community, and track progress as it happens.
Dumfries High School, is the new build high school to replace the current old facility located in Dumfries, Scotland.
The project is developed to pull together a cohesive and inspirational new learning environment to replace the current collection of buildings across a disjointed site.
Making a positive difference in the communities we work is a vital part of our responsible business plan. Our Community Investment Group supports our project teams in the delivery of local community engagement projects. The Morgan Sindall Construction Scotland business unit operates out of two regional offices, the Eurocentral office being associated with this project.
Euan Bell, Pre-Construction Director, is the dedicated community contact for the Dumfries High School project and will maintain communications with neighbours and the surrounding community. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with Ricky via the contact form at the bottom of the page with any queries regarding the project.
As a business we are proud members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has a Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
This page will provide a snapshot of activities we have been undertaking in the local community.

I will lead the delivery of our pre-construction services on the Dumfries High School project and will be our primary point of contact for hub South West and Dumfries & Galloway Council throughout development. I will guide our project team to implement a design and procurement strategy that delivers against Dumfries & Galloway Council’s objectives; managing key design, commercial and supply chain interfaces from inception through to delivery.
CloseI will be the senior commercial lead on the project. I will work closely with our procurement, preconstruction and site delivery teams to ensure that the project delivers best value for our customer.
CloseWorking closely with the project team, Gordon will manage the project programme to check that the project programme is being adhered to and in a way that will meet the project’s key dates.
CloseWorking closely with our supply chain, I’ll be ensuring a close control on quality and cost of the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) elements of the project.
CloseI will work with the design consultants and our team towards the early agreement of the sustainability strategy to meet Dumfries & Galloway Council’s sustainability requirements, in particular in-use energy consumption and Net Zero carbon aspirations. Throughout the life of the project I will work with our Development and Construction teams to implement the strategy at all key decision making points (such as material selection) and liaise with our site team to monitor that the requisite quality control measures are being implemented to achieve the desired sustainability performance.
CloseI will be the principal point of contact for all social impact activities. I will seek out and work with all appropriate stakeholders to maximise our engagement within all areas of the community and exceed expectations in achieving tangible social, economic and educational benefits.
