Sweat the Asset 2024

Sweat the Asset is a senior phase school competition which took place on 11th October for S5/S6 to give pupils the chance to showcase their business and entrepreneurial skills and learn how to utilise them in a real-world scenario.

Pupils competed against schools from across South and West of Scotland, gaining a greater understanding of core business principals, testing their teamwork skills and showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.

Candidates were asked to design and create a business idea capable of generating an income, using their school as the money-making asset (the buildings, the grounds, car parks and playing fields).

It was also an opportunity for young people to visit SRUC Barony Campus and find out about the Rural Business Management HNC, HND and Degree options on offer and the different careers available to them.

As headline sponsor, Morgan Sindall were delighted to be invited along to take part in the judging process - with Steven Harkness and Debbie Verity from the project team in attendance. After a tough decision following fantastic presentations from the teams, Debbie and Steven then presented the winning team with our prize donation.
