Morgan Sindall strengthens North East and Cumbria leadership team
Morgan Sindall Construction has appointed Nick Corrigan as the new Area Director of its North East and Cumbria business.
Nick brings 30 years of construction industry experience to the role, the majority of which has been spent working across the North of England. Originally from Hartlepool, he has deep first-hand knowledge of the region and has delivered a broad spectrum of projects.
Morgan Sindall is busy across the region, delivering transformational public and private sector schemes worth between £10m and £100m. Among them is a project for the Defence Estate Optimisation Army Programme at Marne Barracks in Catterick, where ground was broken earlier this year on 205 new and refurbished bedspaces, a workshop, and garaging, sports and storage facilities. Due to complete by the end of 2027, the work will ready the barracks for the arrival of the Royal Engineers’ 21 Engineer Regiment from Ripon.
Education is also a significant part of the workload, with current projects including expanding classroom capacity at TTE Middlesbrough College, while at Appleby Grammar School the business is restoring the Grade II-listed main building and adding a new ‘superblock’ of laboratories, classrooms and technology hubs.
Recently completed schemes include Callerton Academy, a sustainably designed 1,200-pupil secondary school featuring solar PV panels and biodiverse green roofs, and demolition and remediation works at Workington Innovation Centre in Cumbria.
In West Denton, Newcastle, meanwhile, work started earlier this year on the Outer West Leisure Centre while more broadly, Morgan Sindall also continues to support a range of customers across the North East and Cumbria through major regional frameworks, including NEPO, SCAPE and Pagabo.
