Inspiring Future Careers Through World of Work Tasters
90 young people from Alness Academy, Culloden Academy, Dornoch Academy, Fortrose Academy, Invergordon Academy, Inverness Royal Academy, Millburn Academy, Tain Royal Academy and Wick High School attended our first World of Work Tasters event at Fort George.
Delivered in partnership with Historic Environment Scotland, the Army, and local supply chain partners WM Donald, Callander Construction and RI Cruden, the event provided pupils with the opportunity to gain valuable insight into a wide range of careers.
Following the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Work Taster Model, participants took part in a series of engaging, hands-on activities designed to showcase the variety of opportunities available across the industry. These experiences highlighted traditional trades, professional careers, green jobs and digital roles, helping young people better understand the skills and pathways required for each.
The event aimed to inspire future career ambitions, broaden awareness of employment opportunities and strengthen connections between education and industry, ensuring young people are better equipped to make informed choices about their future.
