Culloden Academy Careers Event

Morgan Sindall Construction was proud to attend the Culloden Academy Careers Fair, delivered in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW). The event brought together employers from across the Highlands, giving students the opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways and gain insight into different industries.

Representing Morgan Sindall Construction, Project Managers Patrick Johnstone and Iain McLaren shared their own career journeys, having both started their careers as joinery apprentices before progressing into management roles. Their experiences highlighted the breadth of opportunities available within the construction industry and demonstrated how vocational routes can lead to rewarding long-term careers.

Students were particularly engaged by Iain's honest reflection that, when leaving school, he had hoped to become the next Lionel Messi. While life took him in a different direction, he discovered a passion for construction and now plays a key role in delivering new schools and community facilities across the Highlands. His story reinforced the message that career paths are not always straightforward and that remaining open to opportunities can lead to fulfilling and impactful careers.
