St George's Way crossing completes!

🚶‍♀️ The new pedestrian crossing on St George’s Way was completed and opened for use on 15 June 2026.

💬 The crossing provides a permanent, direct and accessible route between the Forum Car Park, Stevenage town centre and the site of the new Sports & Leisure Centre currently under construction.

🚦 Delivered in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council and funded through the Towns Fund, the crossing improves pedestrian safety and connectivity across one of the town centre’s busiest roads.

🌱 The new crossing supports active travel, making it easier and safer for residents and visitors to walk between the town centre and the new Sports & Leisure Centre when it opens.

👀 Thank you to residents, businesses and road users for their patience during the construction works. The crossing is now fully operational and available for use.
